Modern Warfare 3

Some possible early Call of Duty: MW3 details.

Quote:
The first details for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have been revealed.

Multiple sources have told Kotaku that the game will be released on November 8, as previous rumours have suggested.

Following on moments after the events of Modern Warfare 2, the game's story will see players travel the world as both returning and all-new characters, including a Russian agent, SAS operative and AC-130 gunner.

The 15-mission-long campaign will start with an invasion of Manhattan by the Russian army, and later cover Dubai, London, Paris, India and Sierra Leone.

Story presentation similar to previous games in the series, with short story sequences and regular cuts to new locations. Playable vehicular segments will include tanks and an AC-130 gunship.

Co-operative mode Spec Ops will return with two mission types, Survival and Mission, while the online multiplayer component will feature a "chunky list" of maps.

The title has been co-developed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, with the game largely complete and finishing touches now being applied.

While Activision has yet to officially announce the game, it recently told investors that a new Call of Duty title would be revealed in the coming weeks.

Earlier this week, Modern Warfare 3's logo and cover art were reportedly leaked, as well as suggestions of destructible environments.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is expected for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

'Modern Warfare 3' first details revealed - Gaming News - Digital Spy

Well as much as I've been disappointed with MW2 and Black Ops, I think any self respecting FPS fan will be keeping an eye on this one.

I won't buy it until they kill the quick-scoping, and make camping more difficult in ffa/tdm.

Be fair wigs, no CoD game is about the campaign is it? Online gaming is why people love CoD.

Modern warfare had a mint campaign. Pripriat on veteran? Ruthless but damn fun.

Hmmm i dont rate the MP all that much - yes its fun, but i prefer Battlefield games more for MP.
But i think i may be in the minority when i say i'm more interested in the SP and story arc

Gotta love the tags. Battlefield is in there, but COD isn't!

Anyways, there's extra stuff from the trailers. In order they are America, England, France and Germany. At the end, each has something different said in russian, which approx translate to:

One - Destroy your enemy's hope for victory.

Two - use everything to your advantage.

Three - use your enemy's weakness.

Four - Attack from unexpected sides.

from one site very similar but as below
  • America trailer: "1... will destroy enemies' hope of victory."
  • England trailer:"2... use everything to your advantage."
  • France trailer: "3... Take advantage of your enemies' weaknesses."
  • Germany: "4... attack from the blind side."

Looks like whole sections of MW2 have been moved wholesale to a new area (rubber dinghy chase, AC130, mini-gun chopper etc.)

bit-gamer.net

this is what bit-gamer had to say on it... summed up nicely what i;d have said.

Quote:
The eagerly anticipated sequel to one of the fastest-selling games of all time looks set to see players hopping around the globe to some of the worst-spelt countries in the world - Am3rica, 3ngland, G3rmany and Franc3.

The game certainly looks set to continue the frantic pace of action that made its predecessors so popular, but we couldn’t help being a little miffed at the quality of graphical finery on show as the game engine doesn’t seem to have moved on too far.

Maybe we’ve been spoilt by the recent Battlefield 3 trailers, which show off the mind blowing excellence of the Frostbite 2 engine, but it just didn’t look that impressive to us.

The only that has peeked my curiosity so far is having a battle around London, a level of familiarity would change this up a bit.

the tube coming off the rails did spark up a bit for me as i love london but with the game play always being so linier and never really having to think... how do i complete this mission or what is the best way, all of the CODs have been like that and yes i enjoy singleplayer going through it but never any replay value.

i'll most likely borrow it or rent it just go get the G's

COD MW3 Comes to London

This brand new clip introduces four of the new scenarios within the game – New York, London, Paris and Berlin. Each is rendered with amazing detail and apparently suffering a terrorist assault that has echoes of some very real-world events. More about all of that in due course – you know how Activision likes to drip-feed us the good stuff.

Meantime, a few crucial details have already been confirmed. Firstly, Modern Warfare 3 is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, a new studio headed up by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey. These Electronic Arts alumni have previously worked on such games as FIFA, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, the James Bond series and Dead Space. Suffice to say that Modern Warfare 3 is in safe hands.

Secondly, we’re assured that the brand new technology driving MW3’s gameplay far surpasses that used in previous games. In plainspeaking terms that means massive amounts of destruction and explosive battles on an unprecedented scale. Bring it on, we say. All of it...

Finally, Activision has taken the bold step of announcing a global launch date. We suggest you reach for your diaries and blot out several weeks commencing November 8th. That’s just in time for the Thanksgiving celebrations in the US, but are we also looking at the UK’s Christmas number one here? We wouldn’t bet against it, although it remains to be seen whether Modern Warfare 3 can surpass the achievements of last year’s biggest-seller, ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’.

It’s another year and another unmissable outing for this blockbuster franchise, then. So, are you ready to answer the Call or is your trigger finger getting a little tired of these annual updates?

View the video here. By God it looks amazing.
First Modern Warfare 3 gameplay footage is dynamite |

MP "info". All changeable:

The Modern Warfare 3 Files: Team Perks, No Nukes, New Killstreaks

Main things: Team perks. A team will work to unlock them. Could be persistent clan stuff.

No Tactical Nukes in MW3.

Was interested to see on the top pre-orders on play.com BF3 is beating MW3. Considering the record sales CoD games get that could say a lot about BF3.

Yip, i think you'd have to be a maniac or a raving fanboy not to look at BF3 and get a James May 'fizzy belly'

Although most of those pre-orders will be PC for BF3 i presume. As lets face it the PC version is the full fat version.
I will be (hopefully) getting BF3 on xbox, so i dont expect it to be anywhere near the PC experience - but if i have as much fun in as i did in BC2 MP i will be a happy bunny

Like i said MW3 is just more of the same (although they have thankfully got rid of that blood on the screen effect) and if it is the last one i want to know how it ends (price and Soap being shot probably ).

F12011 and Forza 4, BF3 and MW3. The Ambassador is really spoiling us with these
