Trials Evolution: Building a Track

Is it possible to place items in the world before placing your start point. I wanna build a track thats not on the ground but to do this i would have to build an actual track IE wooden floor & ramps etc.

Any ideas?

You must place your start and end point first, but then move the spline points afterwards, by simple selecting the yellow box attached to it and moving it.

Place, build track, then move checkpoints etc. to the correct place.

Note: all of this can be changed, or done in a different way, but this is a basic tutorial. Use and edit as you please.

1. Attach your top platform to your elevator (physics off, to make smoother) by a physics joint.

2. Set physics joint to slider, single axis. Make sure the axis is pointing up and down.

3. Put an area trigger in the middle of the elevator.

4. Trigger to impulse splitter.

5. Splitter to State event and Physics event.

6. Place an Interval Trigger. Turn this off. Set the interval to 1 tick.

7. Use state event to turn interval trigger on. Use physics event to turn physics of your elevator on.

8. Create a Set event, a Variable Data Source, and a 2 input operator.

9. In 2 input operator, divide 1 by 25.

10. Set event, set to increase, and point this (set event targets) to the variable data source. On value, press Y and select the 2 input operator as the value source.

11. In physics joint, go into linear settings, press Y on the Lower limit and set it to the variable data source.

12. Interval trigger created earlier, select event/filter to the set event.

This should get you a "working" elevator. You'll need to do some adjusting to get it exactly right, but you should be able to see how and why it is working.

Alter the 2 input operator to change the elevators speed. You'll need to alter the upper Y limit of the physics joint so the elevator makes it high enough, and also some form of filter that checks the lower limit value, so when it reaches the top, it stops rather than carry on as it does now.
