Arrow Results - FMUK Open Cup Round 1

Has to be said that tonight's lobby was a Sony executive's delight. Problems at the start as there seemed to be a clash between Shanklin and myself + Stoney. I know the power went off to my router this afternoon which probably reset it so my NAT was probably moderate - looks like the same is true for Stoney while it seems Shanklin's may even be strict. Going to set up the port forwarding tomorrow (again) but it really shouldn't be this difficult... Then to cap it all we lost Milton & Warrior late on in the race - I'm crediting you guys with points for 7th & 8th but will leave your PI as the starting B500. And a reminder, please can entrants make sure they're not showing as "offline" at least until they're in the lobby.

So, the results....

Qualifying
1. Axiom
2. Warrior
3. Stonedef
4. Milton
5. Magic
6. Spiny
7. Bailey (failed to decert first lap)
DNQ - Raul

Race
1. Raul
2. Axiom
3. Magic
4. Stonedef
5. Spiny
6. Bailey
7. Milton (DISCO)
8. Warrior (DISCO)
*Milton get 7th due to greater distance covered when disconnected

Cars and PI for next week
@Raul - Mazda MX-5, 483PI
@Axiom - Ferrari 350 California, 496PI
@Magic - Lotus Cortina, 499PI
@Stonedef - Lexus IS300, 502PI
Spiny - AMC Gremlin, 505PI
@Bailey - 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R, 508PI
@Milton - Nissan Silvia S13, 500PI
@Warrior - BMW 2002, 500PI

As only six finished, the gaps are a bit smaller than predicted so I'm going to change gaps by 3PI for Week 2 as well before settling down to 2PI increments.

EDIT: I'll put the table up tomorrow
EDIT2: Table up now

Had the girlfriend hence no mic plugged in, i wasn't being rude lads. Her distraction didn't help my race [inb4 poor excuse ] It was good fun all the same perhaps a one stop was pushing it a little.

Only problem i did have was joe and rauls car sat in the track because they lapped me and had already finished while i was on my last lap, although i smashed my car up a bit, it was the last lap so **** happens

Spiny, mine is moderate, my patience is thinning with this rubbish and it is fine up to Live, then the rest is history.

Again its from not being on my friends list....if everything is hidden while on my profile, im sure you cant bypass it by looking through someone elses profile on their friends list, so it will still show offline both ways, unless you were on my friends list then you'd see everything, including my actual online status.

And if you read what Magic (who also works in IT) MODERATE isnt really enough. Might get away with it on odd occasions but certainly not when theres a fairly healthy sized lobby with people with all sorts of connections..........

Mines only been 99.9% reliable since ive opened everything up. And thats with a mediocre rural 3.5mb - 4.0mb down and 1.0mb up

I would suggest that someone who doesnt normally race with us 'MAY' have contributed to split last night.

ANYWAY as said enough now. It is the duty of paticipants to ensure THEY have added the host to freinds list and that everything they can do to erradicate connection issues, such as open NATS, asking people in the house to lay off youtube faceache twatter and the like - anything you can do to help.

The issue lyes with shanklins unfortunately, I noticed his had been conflicting with others on and off in varying races & practice sessions.

There are many guides to opening your NAT settings online. Ensure your patents haven't also got some sort of filter on the router??

Bit of a disappointing week for me. Took me quite a while to get up to speed for some reason, just drove quite badly in the first stint which left me approximately 6 or so seconds behind the Magic-Milton-Stonedef battle.

So, I decided to go for a two stop strategy hoping that it would help. And it has to be said that the second and third sets of tyres felt much better than the first one, and I was able to set times similar to those three once I was up and running again. It wasn't enough though, I was 10 seconds off Stoney at the end although I did pull in six seconds on the last lap so it did look as though his tyres were shot. I think a one-stop strategy was marginally quicker this week, but there was very little in it, maybe two or three seconds. If it had been a 25 lap race, I reckon two-stops would have been comfortably the way to go.

And, it could have been worse. At least my pit crew didn't join Warrior's down the pub when I needed them

No problem on that score here - I just use illegal immigrant slave labour. That way, they're easy to get rid of when they let me down
