If you had 100k...

Shamelessly stolen from Pistonheads, but here's the question for you all. If you had 100,000 to spend on as many or as few cars as you like, what would you spend it on. For the purposes of this, you can have as large a shed as you like to store them if you chose to buy lots. You don't have to buy new, but you must be realistic in the price of the car (unless you want to buy a wreck to do up - then try to allow for cost of parts to repair as best you can).

I'll hit the ground with:

1) Retain Focus ST - (8500) - Because I still love it

2) Vauxhall VXR220 - (17,500) - Love the VX, so why not go for the ultimate one

3) Chrysler 300C Estate (Diesel) - (9000) - Because everyone needs something practical, and I have a soft spot for these

4) Jaguar XJR - (Big variation in price, but 16,000 gets a nice older shape one) - A big, supercharged traditional Jag. And Hannibal Lektor has one. What more could you want?

5) Datsun 120Y - (7000 for an immaculate restored one) - It may seem odd, but this is the car from my childhood. Always liked the "coke-bottle" look, and along with the Mk3 Cortina this has always seemed one of the best exponents of that style available in the UK

6) Corvette Z06 (39,000) - The extravagance But, at under 6 years old, with a 7-litre V8 producing over 500bhp how can I say no? Granted it's LHD and I can't see the front 6ft from the driver's seat, but I still wouldn't be able to resist.

So, there's my fleet of 6 cars for 97,000 leaving me 3000 which might just about put petrol in the 'Vette for a week.

Anyone else fancy trying the same exercise?
All prices taken from Pistonheads, Autotrader or Car&Classic

I'd buy 'the' Euro Spec NSX Type R. Only 1 ever registered in Europe officially. And maybe a tank of fuel.

Well at first I would have a MK2 mx5 that has had the sills and archs cut back and clean metal in, sprayed in black, turbo charged with small boost , approx 230 bhp. Lowered and nice wheels, clean inside. Approx value $5000

Then i would have a rust free MK1 MX5 with full cage , stripped inside, bucket seat and harness, steering lock mods, either a 2 ltr zetec engine or V6 in the front. $4000

Next would be a trailer to tow said mx5 to track etc. Brian James with tilt and room for tires etc. $3000

BMW 3 Series 325 M Sport
To use to comute/take family out etc. $10,000

Nissan 200sx/s13 - $2500
This will be a project car
Lots of parts $7500

That's upto $32000

I will think of more, used $ as pound sign brakes tapatalk.

100k and you buy 3 mx5's?
This is a wish list surely, not something that is achievable in normality

Saying that... An mvx5 without rust? That is a dream.

Only buy 2 lol, just different body shapes.

There is a few rust free ones but they need importing from Japan.

1972 NISSAN 240Z with Samurai kit - 25,000
Seriously classic car with real style. To find a good, clean model with this spec is tough - hence the price.

1988 Porsche 911 Turbo - 50,000
All ready somewhat of a classic but I feel this will be one car that will be a future collectible. Mad wing, mad power, no assists...a proper Porka!

2008 Audi 5.0T V10 RS6 Quattro Avant - 25,000
Everyday runner. If you have ever heard one of these on the road you will know why! Seriously awesome car!

You may want to get something to tow it, or that should read "trailer to lift said MX5 off driveway"

I'd buy a Dacia Sandero (Diesel) because it'll get me to work pretty cheap. I'd blow the rest on cocaine and prostitutes.
